PSP Hoedown, A Collection of PSP News from This Week

{embed="video-games/dpadz-ads"}PSP speaks English, finally. The North American site has officially launched. Pictures, game listings, launch titles etc. Essentially everything you’ve already read about on other sites ages ago but now it’s official.

With the PSP only a couple of weeks away, game reviews for the platform are popping up like gophers in whack a mole. Dynasty Warriors, the old hack and slash standby based in ancient China now stabs it’s way onto Sony’s petite console. The skinny? It’s the same old same old for the PSP with more emphasis on bodyguards to help you out. Gamespot, 6.9.

Another franchise but a better one in my opinion. Wipeout Pure for PSP. Screenshots and more info at Worthplaying here.

See Worthplaying again for screens and info on other PSP games.

Lumines appears to be the must have game for the PSP. Good reviews from all the major game sites.
How much are you willing to bet a Lumines PSP bundle is due shortly? Does Paris Hilton like to take photos on her Sidekick? No need for me to repeat what Joystiq has listed. Here are review ratings.

Life is all about accessories. Ask any woman. Or game geek. Logitech realizes your weakness and is here to help alleviate your wallet of more dollars after you’ve already blown at least $250. Logitech will have a case, portable speakers, earbud headphones and a headphone Y adapter all in black ready at launch.

PSP keyboard. Only mock photo available at this UK store. We’ll have to wait till the IM, word processing, browser and email apps come out first before using something like this; unless Mavis Beacon PSP was announced and I missed it.

Lionsgate Entertainment in Dpadz home town of Vancouver BC is releasing UMD movies for PSP. None of them are awe inspiring. Open Water, Saw, The Punisher, Total Recall and Rambo, First Blood. These are like live video games only without the user interaction. Guess I’ll have to go elsewhere for my Bergman or even David Lynch.

Finally, someone at Sony clues in. I applaud their pricing if not their choice of movie release.

Biohazard on PSP
While Sony is releasing a number of movies on the UMD format for PSP, including the UMD version of Biohazard II: Apocalypse, Capcom has taken it upon themselves to release the first movie on the UMD format, and 1000 yen cheaper than other titles. The UMD version releases April 13th, same day as the sequel will. More info can be found at Capcom Japan.

1000 yen is about $10.

Cripes, PSP goes couture. A PSP inspired fashion show. Now there is absolutely, unequivically no doubt whatsoever the PSP will be a huge monster hit. When fashion designers cross over, it’s a done deal.
