Nintendo Revolution Will use Wifi
{dpadz-img}{embed="video-games/dpadz-ads"}OK everyone sing along to the Beach Boys tune of Surfing Safari but replace all references of “surfin” and “safari” with wifi.
Let’s go surfin’ now
Everybody’s learning how
Come on and safari with me (Come on and safari with...)
According to MSNBC (soon to be just NBC as Microsoft is planning on getting out), the Revolution will use “high-speed wireless Internet connections” for gaming.
Xbox also is rumored to be wireless and the PS3 will most likely be as well. Finally, no annoying cords everywhere, that will be replaced by annoying dead batteries and wifi interference.
Update: The NintendoRevolution will also be backwards compatible with the Gamecube. President Satoru Iwata complained about shortcomings in the gaming industry in the same CNN article, saying
“We (as an industry) are getting smaller in how we define progress,” he said. “Making games look photorealistic is not the only way to define success. ... Some day, our games won’t look any better. and “When is the last time we invented a new genre,” he asked. “Our race tracks, our bosses, our heroes are all starting to look alike. ... We spend more time and money chasing the same players, but who are we leaving behind? Are we making games only for ourselves?”
Good points.
